Fruits de Mer Records is an independent British record label based in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England, with a speciality of vinyl-only releases, including cover versions of classic psychedelia, progressive rock, acid folk, krautrock and space rock.
The record label was founded in early 2008 by Keith Jone and Andy Bracken, the latter of which had been operating his own record label, Bracken Records, since 2005. When Fruits de Mer Records was founded in 2008, it was operated as an imprint of Bracken Records, and continued as such until the the closure of the parent company in 2010, at which point Fruits de Mer Records became the main company. In 2012, Andy left the label. Keith has continued to operate it on his own, with occasional help from his friends and family.
Every release was originally limited to 300-500 copies, which has since 2012 been increased to 800-1200 copies, usually on coloured vinyl.
FdM releases are a right mix of classic and obscure tracks, reinterpreted by artists who love them, respect them, but want to breathe new life into them…and new songs by bands that have their roots in the 60s/70s.
